Overwrought Sculpture Garden and Gallery

Overwrought Sculpture Garden and Gallery is an inspiring creative retail enterprise set on lush farmland in Blampied, Central Victoria just eight minutes from Daylesford on the Midland Highway to Ballarat. Artist David Dawson and his team create his uniquely Australian sculptural metalwork designs in his extensive workshop. He then displays them next door in the rustic hay-shed gallery and beautifully landscaped garden setting that he has created. His creations include garden art, native Australian animals and birds, furniture, wall art, magnetic creatures and privacy screens. Here you can find a huge variety of native plants, trees, ponds, dry creek beds, cactus rockeries, waterfalls and lawn peppered with Davids' creations. You can wander or sit by the ponds or waterfalls and listen to the frogs in this tranquil setting. The gallery has been transformed from a rustic hay shed to a light high roofed space that still incorporates elements from its farming past. Here you can buy the art and produce of thirty local and fair trade artisans, many whose work is not available to purchase elsewhere. The range includes indigenous ceramics, paintings, prints and photography, jewellery, woodwork and home wares. With your comfort always in mind we also have a coffee cart in our gallery serving delicious artisan coffee, hot chocolate and chai from Ballarat based businesses Coffee Pirates and Grounded Pleasures with milk from local Inglenook Dairy. Sweet and savory treats are also available to be enjoyed in our gallery or at one of the many tables scattered amongst the ponds and greenery of our sculpture garden. With our resident artist on site weekdays you can include a guided tour of our studio workshop in your visit. Get in touch to make a booking. We have toilets, good access and ample parking for caravans and buses. We look forward to having you visit us.

Clunes Museum

The Clunes Museum is housed in the former warehouse (c.1860) of contractors Nicholl and Wallace who supplied building materials and hardware to miners, farmers and residents. Since then, it's many and varied uses reflect the town's history and, of course, it is very much part of the town's celebrated 19th century street-scape. Between the wars, it was part of the original knitting mill in Fraser Street. During WWII, it was used as a hostel for families. After the war, it was a hairdresser's for many years as well as an upholsterer's, a dressmaker's and even a fish and chip shop. The redeveloped building, now known as The Warehouse - Clunes to reflect it's 19th century history, reopened in 2014 and it operates as a Hub housing the Museum, the Library, the Visitor information Centre, the Hepburn Shire Service Centre as well as event and meeting spaces.
