The best and easiest way to see this beautiful region is in your own vehicle. If you do not have your own, there is car hire available from Melbourne Airport, Melbourne City, Ballarat and Bendigo.

You can easily access this region using public transport. Plan your journey before you leave to ensure you can make it to your destination. Trains run along the Maryborough line through Creswick and Clunes. There are buses that run from Ballarat through Clunes and Creswick. A bus connection from Woodend stops in Trentham, then travels onto Daylesford and Hepburn Springs. You can also connect with the bus to Daylesford and Hepburn Springs in Ballarat, Ballan and Castlemaine at certain times of the day.

There are a number of taxi services operating within this area. The local taxi drivers know this area like the back of their hand, however there are only a small number of taxis locally based. During peak times, you may have to wait for a taxi, so if you are relying on a taxi it is important to pre-book.

There is limited mobile phone & internet reception in parts of regional Victoria. If you are relying on mobile reception, check with your carrier to ensure you have coverage.

Mobile internet can be patchy sometimes in this region. There are many cafes and accommodation providers that offer free Wi-Fi to customers. You can visit the Libraries in Clunes, Creswick, Daylesford and Trentham for free access to a computer and Wi-Fi during opening hours.
